There are Urban artists and then there is the incomparable DJ Peril.

Whether it’s through his innovative DJ sets, Aerosol Art or his Aria award winning group 1200 Techniques, or his cutting edge music production or his scene-setting club nights and blazing live performances supporting the best in the biz,

DJ Peril’s history goes back to 1983 when he started out as a Bboy and graffiti artist by the same name & later on flipped his graffiti fame name Peril to Dj Peril and the rest is history.

Peril was commissioned by Sony music to paint a mural for the last Official A Tribe Called Quest album “We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service” on a wall in Fitzroy St Fitzroy.

Peril has been inducted in the Australian Music Vault (AMV) the Australian equivalent of the Rock & Roll Hall of fame as a Australian Hip Hop pioneer/artist, as well as a contributor to the AMV Hip Hop exibition showcasing the Australian Hip Hop scene and legacy from its inception in 1983 right up to the present.

Peril has experience on many a radio show over the years from airtime on Melbourne’s Kiss FM for 8 years, Hosting the famed urban show ‘The Joint’ throughout the 90s, as well a regular guest host on 3rrr radio show “Wheels Of Steel and a regular on Double J.

Today, Peril stands as one of the country’s most consistent Funk & Hip Hop music producer/dj’s.

His legendary club night ‘Planet of the Breaks’ Est. 1997 & Soulclap Est. 2002 were 2 of Australia’s longest running hip hop/Urban institutions.

Peril still runs Soulclap/Uptown events & heavily involved in the Funk Hip Hop Rnb & rare groove Vinyl culture from the very early 80s.

Peril talks the talk and walks the walk, but anyone who knows him will lay testament to the fact that the man is a Urban music icon, long before before 1200 Techniques.

For well over three decades right on 35 years now he has contributed to the development of the Australian Urban music scene always stepping up with fresh ideas and formulas that are both original and innovative.

Of late Peril just finished producing, mixing & writing his new Ep titled the “Time Has Come” Featuring \Wu Tangs GhostFace Killah on the single called “The Flow Is Trouble” and getting the single added to video game “Forza Horizon”.
